George Kufrin’s work has been chosen to participate in Chicago Artists Month, 2014. It’s the 19th annual celebration of Chicago’s vibrant art community presented by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events. CAM is being held in every ward in the city, and runs throughout the month of October. (For more information, visit < www.chicagoartistsmonth.org>;

This year’s theme is “Crossing Borders,” –actual physical borders or conceptual, genre or societal borders.

Kufrin’s entry:
At 16, his first published photograph of a raging coal
yard fire ran full page in the Chicago Herald American.\
From that moment on, George Kufrin went where the
action was. And where his photos declare he was an
insider, whatever the venue. From millionaires to down-
and-outers on Skid Row, high finance moguls to high
fashion models, from presidents and politicians to
artists, musicians, dancers and poets, Kufrin was there,
shooting iconic images of people engaged in their
passions.

To mark the occasion, Paul Berlanga has organized a wonderful exhibit of George’s work, based on the “Crossing Borders” theme, at:
